uriel was the fourth (arch)angel to be created by the divine one, given the duty of being the angel of wisdom, salvation, & repentance. as such, he takes his duties very seriously & over the years, he has acted as a guide & mentor to humanity from far away. now that he's on earth, that is a duty he has fully embraced.a few thousand years ago, he used to be much less lenient on sinners, demons, & fallen angels, often smiting them if need be. currently, he tries to give everyone a chance. as much as he can, at least. both outwardly & at heart, uriel is a kind-spirited individual who only wishes to help others. however, sometimes his obedience to god & the wishes of heaven may get in the way.prior to lucifer's rebellion & the war in heaven, uriel was a fairly different angel than he is now. initially, he idolized the one now known as lucifer. he was a free-spirit of sorts, enjoying playing music, enjoying philosophical discussions, & pulling pranks. however, once the war began, everyone was forced to choose a side. despite his attempts to avoid it, he, too, had to make a decision. the war changed him. never before had angels fought against their own kind, much less slay them. being higher ranked than most, uriel was forced onto the front lines & thus, was responsible for many deaths that will haunt him for the remainder of his existence. yet still, he always obeyed the commands given to him even as he watched angels be thrown from heaven & cast down into the pits of hell. these traumatic events & seeing what happened to angels who turned on heaven made uriel the angel he is. one that is eternally subservient.
